What You Should Do
Stop using this product immediately. Do not consume, use, or distribute it.
Dealers will install two additional emergency exit windows, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on August 6, 2021. Owners may contact Navistar customer service at 1-800-448-7825. Navistar's number for this recall is 21506.
Affected Products
2022 IC BUS CESB. Navistar, Inc. (Navistar) is recalling certain 2014 IC Bus CE, 2019 IC Bus CE, and 2022 IC Bus CE school buses. These buses are not equipped with enough emergency exits. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 217, "Bus Emergency Exits and Window Retention and Release."
Why Was This Recalled?
A lack of emergency exits can delay passengers from exiting the vehicle during an emergency, increasing their risk of injury.
