2017 RAM 1500 Recalled by Chrysler (FCA US LLC) — FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE:STORAGE:TANK ASSEMBLY
What You Should Do
Stop using this product immediately. Do not consume, use, or distribute it.
Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will replace the fuel tanks, free of charge. The recall began on August 10, 2017. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is T45.
Affected Products
2017 RAM 1500. Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain 2017 Ram 1500 trucks. The fuel tanks in the affected vehicles may have a broken fuel tank control valve which might leak fuel if the vehicle were to become inverted. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 301, "Fuel System Integrity."
Why Was This Recalled?
In the event of a rollover crash, leaking fuel in the presence of an ignition source can increase the risk of a fire.
