What You Should Do
Stop using this product immediately. Do not consume, use, or distribute it.
Dealers will inspect and replace the tailgate panel as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed April 17, 2024. Owners may contact BMW customer service at 1-800-525-7417.

2024 BMW XM. BMW of North America, LLC (BMW) is recalling certain 2024 XM vehicles. The tailgate panel may detach from the mounting structure due to improper adhesive bonding that occurred during manufacturing.

A panel that detaches from a vehicle can become a road hazard, increasing the risk of a crash.
